Article C6.1(c) in our Collective Agreement
*11 sick leave days payable at 100% wages per school year
*shown in ESS in hours; allocation is prorated for LTOs & 0.5 permanents
*may be used for reason of personal illness, personal injury, personal medical appointments, or dental emergencies
*cannot be used to support a family member or any other use
*code 01 in Smartfind, usually entered by the employee

HDSB STIP:Short Term Insurance Plan
Article C6.1(c) in our Collective Agreement
*120 days is available at 90% wages per school year; used after sick leave paid at 100% is exhausted
*shown in ESS in hours; allocation is prorated for LTOs & 0.5 permanents
*used for same criteria as sick days
*some STIP days may be paid at 100% if you have STIP top-up available; top-up credits show in ESS:
1 credit = 10 days at 100%
*code 01 in Smartfind, entered by the employee; may be entered by the abilities specialist if on an approved medical leave

OTIP LTDI: Long Term Disability Insurance
Article C6.1(f) in our Collective Agreement
*HDEAA’s LTD insurance policy administered by OTIP and supported by the HDEAA office
*length of support depends on individual circumstances
*paid to the worker if the injury or illness preventing the worker from working meets criteria under the insurance plan
*application process should be completed 12 weeks prior to the exhaustion of STIP
*if original application is denied, an appeal must be filed within 6 months
