HDEAA ELECTIONS 2026

Per Bylaw 4.1: The President shall report to the membership via the HDEAA website the number of eligible Executive Committee positions, to be elected at the Annual General Meeting, fourteen (14) business days prior to April 27th.

For the 2026 HDEAA Election the following positions are eligible for nominations and election.

ELIGIBILITY PER CONSTITUTION & BYLAWS

Bylaw 4.2: To qualify as a nominee, for any eligible Executive Committee position, the candidate must be a Seniority Permanent member in good standing of the Halton District Educational Assistants Association.

A) To be eligible for the position of President, the nominee must also have served in a seconded position on the Executive Committee for at least 1 year. This service must have occurred within the preceding four (4) years.

B) To be eligible for the position of Vice President, the nominee must also have served on the Executive Committee for at least 1 year. This service must have occurred within the preceding four (4) years.

This notification serves as the start of the nomination process. The nomination package is located at the bottom of this page.

Nominations will close Monday April 27th, 2026, at 4:30 pm. Information about the verified candidates will be posted to members Tuesday April 28th 2026.

A virtual Meet the Candidates meeting is scheduled for Wednesday May 6th, 2026 between 5:00 – 6:45pm.

Online voting will take place Wednesday May 6th 2026 at 7:00 pm to Tuesday May 12th , 2026 at 4:30 pm.

ALL members in good standing – permanent and occasional – may cast a vote.
